The reason for undertaking the project is the unfavorable phenomenon of vehicle overloading. Reducing the number of overloaded vehicles will significantly extend the lifespan of pavements and bring multi-million savings to the State Treasury on road maintenance and repairs. Counteracting this phenomenon mainly involves control and preventive measures.
The HAWIM project aims to provide new solutions that will improve the accuracy of Weigh-In-Motion systems, thereby giving tools to support the effectiveness of conducted inspections.
