The Section of Structural Mechanics and Materials deals with the modeling of materials and structures, paying particular attention to the theoretical foundations and computational models.
The members of the Section are members of the Civil Engineering Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences who conduct research on topics consistent with the areas of the Section's activity.
The members of the Problem Group are representatives of research centers in Poland who deal with theoretical research, laboratory research, computer simulations in the mechanics of structures and materials, and the implementation of research results in standards.
The Section cares about the quality of education in the field of mechanics with a detailed consideration of theoretical and experimental foundations of mechanics of materials and structures as well as computer methods.
