Visit of teachers and students from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences
The developed program is implemented jointly by students from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (as part of the M&EM course) and Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. One of the elements of the initiative is the participation of students in lectures on climate change, sustainable development, project implementation and an engineering approach to increasing city resilience. During field classes, students learn about small retention solutions in Gdańsk (rain gardens at Uczniowska, Goszczyńskiego, 3 Maja Street) and create concepts that will improve resistance to floods in the Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz (Fiszera, Politechniczna, Warsaw Ghetto Street).
Proposals for their solutions will be presented on the last day of their stay (November 25th, 2021) and assessed by a committee composed of representatives from the Gdańsk University of Technology, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and the company Gdańskie Wody.
The project is implemented under two programmes:
- Minor Course Create Resilient Cities, exchange program: http://www.rotterdamuas.com/.../creating-resilient-cities/
- SPRIM for Gdańsk, developed by GUT lecturers: www.facebook.com/SPRIM-dla-Gda%C5%84ska-109513404243317
