Retrofitting of the historical Auditorium at the Gdansk University of Technology

historic auditorium
The auditorium is equipped with wooden historical sliding boards.
The modernization of Auditorium No. 167 located in the Main Edifice of the Gdansk University of Technology, aimed at improving the comfort of conducting classes, has been qualified for implementation as part of a project from the Citizens' Budget.

The aim of the project is to improve the comfort and quality of teaching classes in auditorium no. 167 in the Main Edifice by installing a ventilation system, acoustic adaptation of the room and changing the lighting to LED. The activities will include the installation of mechanical ventilation, which will provide fresh air and reduce the concentration of pollutants such as dust or carbon dioxide. Acoustic adaptation, including the installation of acoustic ceiling tiles, will significantly reduce reverberation and increase the intelligibility of the teaching content. In addition, the lighting will be modified. Currently the auditorium is equipped with outdated lamps. That part of the project includes the installation of efficient LED fixtures, which will prevent eye fatigue and improve the students comfort while learning. The project implements the objectives of the Climate Plan of the Gdańsk University of Technology: it assumes the replacement of the existing lighting with modern LED lighting, and the cessation of ventilation of the auditorium by opening windows, which will reduce the energy consumption needed to use at the hall. The planned cost of modernization is 140,000 PLN.
