Tomasz Ciborowski from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering will represent the Gdańsk University of Technology in the finals of this year's edition of the Red Rose Competition.

Tomasz Ciborowski is a fifth-year construction student at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Since May 2022, he has been participating in three research projects under the PLUTONIUM program. The result of the work in the project "Integrated diagnostics of historic objects using the GPR and thermographic methods" (project leader: Prof. Magdalena Rucka, Ph.D. Eng.) is the co-authorship of a scientific publication in the "Wiadomości Konserwatorskie" magazine, distinguished speeches at the National Student Construction Conference KOMBOferencja 2023 and the 9th Session of Student Scientific Clubs in Szczecin. Since June 2022, he has been vice-president of the KOMBO Structural Mechanics Scientific Club, with which he organizes a number of scientific and popularization events, construction competitions and additional supporting classes for students. In May 2023, he received the ACTINIUM scholarship for second-cycle full-time students. In November 2023, he obtained an Individual Research Study, and a month later a research project as part of the RADIUM competition called "Mechanical metamaterials produced using 3D printing technology". Since January 2023, he has been the ambassador of Pekabex at the Gdańsk University of Technology. In March this year, he joined the Gdańsk Branch of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians. Passionate about natural sciences, especially construction mechanics, theater, gardening and beekeeping. In his free time, he writes poems, serves as a lector in church and spends time tinkering in the workshop.
