Race to Zero – Gdańsk Tech’s actions for climate
The goal of the global initiative, the Race to Zero campaign, is to unite business leaders, cities, regions, investors and educational and research institutions in striving to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest.
The initiative was established in 2020, and was launched by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Since the campaign was launched, the number of Race to Zero members has grown dynamically. Currently, the campaign brings together 13.5 thousand participants from various sectors and regions of the world. There are approximately 10 thousand member companies (including 7,000 from the SME sector), 52 regions, over 1,000 cities, numerous non-governmental organizations, as well as over a thousand educational institutions, including Gdańsk University of Technology. All participants of the campaign have committed to taking specific actions to achieve zero net emissions and promote sustainable development in their organizations.
