Prof. Joanna Żukowska to Lead the Office of the Academic Ombudsman | Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Gdańsk University of Technology

The Academic Ombudsman at Gdańsk University of Technology is an independent body responsible for protecting the rights of members of the academic community and promoting academic values. The primary tasks of the Ombudsman include:

• Mediation and conflict resolution: The Ombudsman conducts mediations and helps resolve conflicts among students, doctoral candidates, academic staff, teaching staff, and administrative employees.
• Protection against unequal treatment: Individuals experiencing unfair treatment, mobbing, or harassment can seek assistance from the Ombudsman.
• Promoting a culture of respect: The Ombudsman’s Office strives to build an academic culture based on mutual respect and amicable conflict resolution.

The Ombudsman operates on principles of confidentiality, independence, neutrality, and impartiality, which means they do not take sides in disputes but aim for a fair resolution of the issues.
