Future engineers take center stage at Gdańsk Tech
Gdańsk University of Technology recently hosted an inspiring event for students from Elbląg City, organized by the Fundacja Inspirujące Przykłady(Inspiring Examples Foundation) in partnership with NDI GROUP, Wipro IT Services Poland, and the University’s Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The event, held on January 14, 2025, was designed to ignite interest in engineering careers and give students a hands-on look at the possibilities within the technical field.
The day kicked off with a warm welcome from Doctor of Engineering, University Professor Rafał Ossowski, Vice-Dean for Education, and Ryszard Trykosko, Vice President for Business Development at NDI SA. From there, students embarked on a guided tour of the university’s historic sites, including the Senate Hall, the Hevelius Courtyard, and the Library, led by Gdańsk Tech Curator Ms. Barbara Ząbczyk-Chmielewska. This tour showcased the university’s unique blend of tradition and cutting-edge education.
The spotlight of the event was the newly opened Eco-Innovation Center, where students attended presentations from the Faculty’s Scientific Circles and learned how the center bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. Representatives from NDI SA, including Oliwia Arszyńska and Iga Kolińska, shared their experiences in building the center and introduced NDI as a dynamic workplace offering growth opportunities for young engineers.
To cap off the day, students explored the Eco-Innovation Center in person, seeing firsthand the results of innovative engineering solutions. After lunch and a wrap-up session, the students returned home with fresh inspiration and a clearer picture of what a future in engineering could look like.
This collaboration between academia and business is a shining example of how partnerships can foster the next generation of professionals. Events like these not only open doors to technical careers but also underscore the importance of innovation and sustainability in shaping a better future.
