The project consists of three parts in which three integrated approaches (A, B, C) to the recycling of wind turbine blades will be considered:

Part A(rchitecture): The utilization of large-size pieces of FRP material salvaged from the blades as architectural elements useful in engineering and other applications.

Scope:

  • open architectural competition (concepts for the use of blades),
  • design and construction of prototypes of small architectural elements.

Part B(uilding): The utilization of large-size pieces of FRP material salvaged from the blades as bearing structural elements useful in building and infrastructure applications.

Scope:

  • non-destructive testing (ultrasound),
  • destructive testing (tension, compression, bending),
  • pedestrian bridge concept.

Part C(oncrete): The utilization of grounded material from the blades as an admixture for concrete.

Scope:

  • development of modified concrete formulas,
  • execution of small- and medium-sized elements,
  • strength and physical-chemical tests.
