The project consists of three parts in which three integrated approaches (A, B, C) to the recycling of wind turbine blades will be considered:
Part A(rchitecture): The utilization of large-size pieces of FRP material salvaged from the blades as architectural elements useful in engineering and other applications.
Scope:
- open architectural competition (concepts for the use of blades),
- design and construction of prototypes of small architectural elements.
Part B(uilding): The utilization of large-size pieces of FRP material salvaged from the blades as bearing structural elements useful in building and infrastructure applications.
Scope:
- non-destructive testing (ultrasound),
- destructive testing (tension, compression, bending),
- pedestrian bridge concept.
Part C(oncrete): The utilization of grounded material from the blades as an admixture for concrete.
Scope:
- development of modified concrete formulas,
- execution of small- and medium-sized elements,
- strength and physical-chemical tests.
