On February 27, 2024, representatives of Scan3D company visited Gdańsk University of Technology. Scan3D specializes in 3D scanning technology, photogrammetry, BIM, and Digital Twin. The meeting aimed to present the capabilities and applications of three-dimensional technologies to students of the Construction and Geodesy and Cartography majors from the fourth and sixth semesters.

During the presentation, Scan3D employees discussed the principles of operation and various applications of measurement methods used in practice. They presented the results of their measurements and the effects of processed data. They also introduced the latest achievements and innovations in this field, indicating the development of technology and potential application prospects in the industry.

An extremely inspiring aspect of the visit was the demonstration of the practical capabilities of 3D scanners and close-range photogrammetry. Students had the opportunity to participate in practical demonstrations, during which they could independently use the devices and conduct scans of various objects. This hands-on experience allowed for a better understanding of the potential and technical aspects of working with geodetic modeling of three-dimensional real objects.

The visit of Scan3D company employees to Gdańsk University of Technology contributed significantly to the development of technical and professional competencies of students. Thanks to this initiative, the university continues to strive to provide students with access to the latest technologies and practical experiences that support their professional development and creativity.
