The staff of the Department of Geotechnical and Hydraulic Engineering actively collaborate with the industry. The Department commercial offer covers many fields of engineering. Commercial contracts are fulfilled with the knowledge and experience of the Department staff using our two in-house laboratories: the Geotechnical Investigation Laboratory (Laboratorium Badań Geotechnicznych) and the Laboratory of Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering (Laboratorium Hydrauliki i Inżynierii Środowiska):

  • conceptual work, expert opinions and design of constructions in civil engineering, water resource engineering and environmental engineering,
  • wide variety of specialised laboratory and field tests of soils,
  • specialised testing of geosynthetic materials,
  • multi-variant analyses of soil-structure interactions with a special focus on construction failures (e.g. highway embankments, deep excavations, large scale foundations of power plants),
  • scientific supervision of construction and operation of civil engineering structures. Specialised monitoring and measuring of such constructions along with full analysis of the results,
  • environmental impact assessment for constructions with a significant impact on the natural environment,
  • estimation and calculation of the available resources of groundwater, modeling of groundwater flow,
  • assessment of the impact of groundwater source operation along with the anthropogenic impact on the quality and chemical composition of water,
  • analysis of the influence of contamination sources on he quality of groundwater,
  • designer and contractor training in the fields of: weak soil reinforcements, geosynthetic applications in civil and environmental engineering, landfill construction and operation, modern technologies in geotechnics,
  • assessment of transformation and means of protection of seacoasts with a special focus on cliffed coasts and slope dynamics,
  • designation of flood risk zones,
  • modeling of ice phenomena,
  • laboratory determination of the values of the local resistance coefficients and along the length of the water flow in the pipes under pressure,
  • analysis of the influence of hydrotechnical structures on the flow conditions.
