  • NOAH "Protecting the Baltic Sea from Flood Pollution from Heavy Rainfall in Urban Areas" - Cities and universities around the Baltic Sea have started to develop tools for city planners in the field of flood planning. A project called "NOAH" aims to help cities better prevent flood risks and, consequently, reduce the risk of pollution in the Baltic Sea. NOAH's goal is to create a concept for comprehensive planning and implementation of intelligent drainage systems in real conditions of urban environments. A holistic approach to planning will combine rainwater management with spatial planning. As a result, proposals for intelligent system solutions will be developed, the implementation of which will enable the increase of resistance to the effects of climate change on the existing drainage systems in Baltic cities.

  • WaterPUCK "Integrated information and predictive system" - The project aims to create integrated information and predictive system for the Puck commune. A computer system with the WaterPUCK service will be used for this, thanks to which it will be possible to assess the impact of farms and the fertilizers used in them on the quality of surface and groundwater in the Puck commune, and thus also in the Bay of Puck. As a result, the number of pollutants reaching groundwater, surface, and sea waters will be limited, the system will also support the planning of the region's development and enable its sustainable development.

  • IMPETUS "Innovative Measurement Tool towards Urban Environmental Awareness." - Despite the growing experience in designing and managing cities, some limitations appear that inhibit the process of mitigation and adaptation to climate change. In particular, this concerns limited availability of up-to-date data on local conditions; citizens' lack of knowledge about climate change and its impacts on health and safety; failure to use the potential of a holistic and interdisciplinary approach in shaping urbanized space resistant to climate change. The IMPETUS project is based on a holistic approach (technical, social, artistic, visual) supported by IT, introducing solutions enabling the assessment of the city's vulnerability to climate change, supporting the decision-making process, strengthening public opinion, and participation of residents in planning processes. The result is a database that integrates the data collected by engineering, sociological and artistic methods concerning the urbanized environment, health, and well-being of residents. The solutions developed under the project will ultimately be used in: teaching at various faculties and disciplines of universities in the EU, students, researchers, teaching staff in water management, civil and environmental engineering, urban planning, transport planning, architecture, art,  communication, and social sciences; spatial planning as tools supporting civic participation, stakeholder dialogue as well as decision-making and investment processes.
