Meeting
The Roof of the World or Top of the World is a metaphoric epiteth or phrase used to describe the highest region in the world, also known as High Asia. On January 8-12 this year the inaugural meeting of the consortium implementing the international project entitled "Sustainability and Quality Assurance for Academic Governance and Redesign Engineering Studies" with the acronym SQUARES.

The SQUARES project aims to develop an integrated curriculum and teaching materials in the areas of among others: energy-efficient construction and sustainable transport management. Moreover, the intention is to conduct an audit of the management system at selected foreign universities. An integral element of the project will be the introduction of modern education management methods at partner universities in Asia. This will take place both in terms of shaping the educational offer and its subsequent implementation.

The inaugural meeting was attended by representatives of universities from Poland, Nepal, Italy, Estonia, Pakistan, Bhutan and Bangladesh. The Gdansk University of Technology, the leader of the international consortium, was represented by PhD Daniel Kaszubowski and Maciej Sawicki, M.A. The meeting was an opportunity to learn about Nepalese culture and customs, delicious cuisine and the opportunity to admire the highest mountains in the world.
