OFFSHORE 2022 Career Day - Catch the big fish!

The first edition of the OFFSHORE Career Day at Gdansk University of Technology is coming up. This is a great opportunity to talk to representatives of companies operating in the renewable energy sector, but also an important step in choosing a career path. We invite students and graduates, as well as all those interested in offshore wind energy who want to build a professional career in one of the fastest growing energy sectors in Europe today.

The event will take place on October 26, from: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, in the lobby of Building 30 (Institute of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology), on the first floor.

River Ice Research

Prof. Lindenschmidt
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Gdansk University of Technology is going to hold a course: River Ice Research by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Karl-Erich Lindenschmidt from the Global Institute for Water Security, School of Environment and Sustainability, University of Saskatchewan

Prof. Lindenschmidt is a hydrological research engineer and a specialist in ice-jam flood forecasting and mitigation, which includes ice monitoring and computer modelling. He has concentrated his research and teaching work in the field of surface water modelling including water quality and geomorphology, as well as river ice in various Canadian rivers.

At the beginning of each new academic year, Gdańsk Tech International Relations Office invites newly admitted international students (Polish and English-speaking) to participate in two important events: the Registration Week and the Welcome Meeting. This year all the newcomers and students from other Gdańsk universities will additionally be able to take part in a free guided tour of Gdańsk and a parade inaugurating the beginning of the academic year.

International itinerant exhibition EXCO'22

On September 13 at 10:00 am, in the Faculty Council Room, the opening ceremony of the conference "EXCO'22 Research in Building Engineering - International Itinerant Exhibition FCEE Gdańsk Tech" will be held, chaired by Prof. Fernando Cos-Gayón López from the Valencia Polytechnic University. After which there will be an open lecture by Prof. José R. Albiol-Ibáñez, who will talk about his research (in the area of concrete structures, including 3D concrete printing). All interested parties are invited to attend the event.

QS World University Rankings – Gdańsk Tech with an even better result

In this year's edition of the ranking of the best universities from around the world, Gdańsk University of Technology for the fourth year in a row ranked in the range of 801-1000. Gdańsk Tech improved its result by 5 percent, placing itself in the TOP 57 percent of universities in the world included in the list.

This year's QS World University Rankings, presenting the best universities from around the world, covered 100 countries. There were 124 new participants in the ranking. A total of 2,462 universities were assessed and their inclusion in the ranking was considered, however, only 1,422 best universities were finally classified according to the ranking rules.
