Announcement about the obligation to wear masks at Gdańsk Tech

Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, reminds employees and students of the obligation to cover their mouth and nose in buildings around the university premises.

Pursuant to Regulation No. 66/2021, students, doctoral students, participants of postgraduate studies, university employees and other persons conducting classes are required to cover their mouth and nose with a mask in generally accessible places, in all campus buildings.

Double degree program with the University of Palermo

We would like to inform you that the recruitment process for the Master's double degree program with the University of Palermo (Italy) for students in Civil Engineering has started.

The agreement gives an opportunity to receive Master’s double degree in the field of Civil Engineering for students of both universities. Students enrolled in Double Degree programme will have a chance to spend the entire summer semester 2021/2022 abroad (it is possible to obtain funding from the Erasmus + program). They will study exactly the same subjects that they would study at the home university or their extended equivalents. All courses will be provided in English.

Due to the epidemic, the list of direct participants of the ceremony has been limited, while all interested students and employees will be able to take part in our ceremony, thanks to the livestream available on our YouTube channel.

Students completed an internship as part of IAESTE

In the period from 15th July to 30th September, we hosted an intern from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (Austria) and an intern from the University of Chemistry and Technology (Czech Republic).

The students completed an internship as part of the Internatinal Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experiece (IAESTE) at the Department of Water and Wastewater Technology, and their supervisor was the Vice-Dean for Cooperation and Promotion Ph.D., D. Sc., Eng. Aneta Łuczkiewicz, Assoc. Prof. at GUT.  During the internship, students had the opportunity to verify the knowledge acquired during their studies and gain professional and scientific experience.

Welcome Meeting for for all newly admitted international students

On Thursday, September 30th at 10:00 a.m. there will be an online Welcome Meeting for all newly admitted international students. The meeting will be held on the MS Teams platform. Foreign students will receive a link to the event by e-mail.

Every year, the International Relations Office organizes an information meeting for foreigners, starting their studies at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The event is not only an opportunity to welcome new foreign students at the University, but also to provide important information related to the beginning of the academic year, organization of studies and life in Gdańsk.

Our scientists study the impact of climate change on the chemical composition of Siberian steppe

As part of the PollAct project, researchers from Gdańsk University of Technology are analyzing the impact of climate change on the presence of pollutants released from long-term permafrost in Siberia. They took part in a summer research expedition to the Northeast Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences (NESS RAN) in Kolyma, where permafrost occurs in the form of massive layers of ice.

PhD, Eng. Małgorzata Szopińska from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Gdańsk Tech and PhD. Krystyna Kozioł from the Faculty of Chemistry, Gdańsk Tech, as part of the interuniversity research team CheMikroPolarLAB, conducted research in the Russian Arctic (Cherski).
