Educational Grants

Let's play geodesy!

grants

Grant Leader: Ph.D. Eng. Daria Filipiak-Kowszyk, FoCAEE

Funded under the Second Competition - Grant for Educational Innovations, implemented at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

The aim of the grant is to develop an outdoor game for first-semester students majoring in geodesy and cartography. Given the significant role of active learning in today's education, the game aims to motivate students to independently solve tasks and puzzles that will lead them through various stages of the game, ultimately to the final stage, all in a friendly and conducive learning environment. Learning through eliciting emotions, activating students, and encouraging them to engage in collaborative educational activities yields results in the form of more effective learning. Introducing such a form of student engagement in the teaching process raises the level of education, as emotionally-based learning often brings many benefits.

Enhancing the Competencies of Geodesy and Cartography Students in the Creation and Utilization of BIM-Compatible Projects

grants

Grant Leader: Ph.D. Eng. Tadeusz Widerski, FoCAEE

Funded under the Second Competition - Grant for Educational Innovations, implemented at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

The aim of the grant is to raise the level of education and expand the competencies of students in the field of Geodesy and Cartography. Increasing the level of engineering knowledge among students will be achieved in two stages. The first stage will involve introducing knowledge in project management using MS Project as part of a new "design thinking" module in the study program. Through these classes, students will acquire practical project management skills and approach the planning of geodetic surveying more consciously. In the second stage, teaching sessions will be conducted based on Autodesk Revit software. During these sessions, students, based on independently conducted field measurements, will gain practical skills in creating a digital building model compliant with BIM technology standards.

Enhancing the Competencies of Geodesy and Cartography Students in the Field of Geodetic Support for Linear Investments

grants

Grant Leader: M.Sc. Eng. Karolina Makowska-Jarosik, FoCAEE

Funded under the Grant for Educational Innovations, implemented at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

The aim of this grant is to elevate the level of education and expand the competencies of students in the Geodesy and Cartography field (specialization in Road and Railway Geodesy). Increasing the level of engineering knowledge among students will be achieved by introducing curriculum content related to the application of modern software widely used in industry and surveying practice. The educational process will involve utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D software and Leica RoadRunner software for geodetic measurement instruments.
