The START program of the Foundation for Polish Science is the oldest scholarship program in Poland for the best young scientists representing all fields of science. Its aim is to support outstanding young scientists and encourage them to pursue further scientific development. The winners of the START program in the 2024 edition will receive an annual scholarship of PLN 30,000. They can use them for any purpose.
Inaugural lecture entitled "Photonicnanocoating: learning from nature" was delivered by prof. Vladimir Katanaev from the University of Geneva and presented the latest research results of his team. The host of the event, Dr. Dominika Saikkonen-Dąbrowska, talked about history, nature and climate change in the Arctic. Dr. Dąbrowska participated in the XXXVIII Polish Polar Expedition in 2015-2016 and has been associated with Spitsbergen since then.
The hardship scholarship is a benefit guaranteed by the Law on Higher Education and Science Act and you can receive up to PLN 2500 one-time (amount applicable in the 2023/2024 academic year).
There is no strict catalog of events that would entitle you to receive aid. If you're not sure whether you should apply for benefit, ask yourself a few questions:

The organizer of the educational event was the Department of Transport Engineering, and the participants were students of engineering studies, majoring in Transport, who learned about the organization and security systems related to the operation of an airport as part of the course Basics of Air Transport Systems. In this edition, Vice-Dean Rafał Ossowski was also a participant of the trip.
So far, the four-year, multidisciplinary research has been coordinated by the University of Ghent. Now, at the Gdańsk University of Technology, the project will be implemented by the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The project managers at GUT are: Dr. Eng. Paweł Tysiąc (WILiŚ) and Dr. Eng. arch. Karolina M.
On May 2 (Thursday) Dean's Office and the Office of Cooperation and Promotion will be closed.
The meeting allowed us to learn about the context of transport in African countries. European partners presented modern teaching methods that will be used in the project. An inherent element of the meeting was mutual cultural understanding, which will allow for reliable communication and cooperation.
