Future Engineers Unite: BIP2025 Connects Students Across Europe in Gdańsk

Gdańsk University of Technology hosted the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP2025) from April 22–26, bringing together students from six European universities for a week of expert lectures, hands-on workshops, and real-world engineering experiences.

The BIP2025 event at Gdańsk University of Technology (Politechnika Gdańska) was a vibrant gathering of aspiring engineers from across Europe. Participants hailed from Universidad de Granada, Universiteit Antwerpen, Universidade do Minho, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Università Politecnica delle Marche, and the host university in Gdańsk.

Dear Candidates, 

We are pleased to announce the start of standard admission to the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, in accordance with Regulation No. 21/2025 issued by the Rector. This admission process is conducted in collaboration with two institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk: the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery and the Institute of Hydro-Engineering. The admission will follow the guidelines (admissions rules) set by Senate Resolution No. 413/2023/XXV, dated November 22, 2023. 

Exploring the Ice Age: NORDQUA Excursion to Northern Poland in 2025

Scientists, researchers, and students from across Europe will gather in Gdańsk this September for the highly anticipated NORDQUA excursion, an in-depth field study exploring the glacial history of northern Poland. Scheduled to take place from September 17 to 19, 2025, the excursion will focus on the evolution of glacial landforms, sediment structures, and coastal hazards shaping the southern Baltic coastline.

Organized by leading geologists and researchers from institutions such as the University of Gdańsk and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the three-day program promises immersive fieldwork, engaging discussions, and an opportunity to analyze key geological sites, including sediment outcrops and drilling locations. Participants are required to arrive in Poland by September 16 to ensure a timely start to the field activities.

Call for volunteers – 2025 Emerging Water Leaders Forum

The IWA Secretariat is seeking Young Water Professionals (YWP) with active IWA membership to volunteer as part of the Programme Committee (PC) for the 2025 IWA Emerging Waters Leader (EWL) Forum to be held during the IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand (8-12 December 2025).

The position is open to any Young Water Professional with an active IWA membership. This is a volunteer position and does not include any form of work agreement. The Programme Committee meetings will be held online (dates to be defined). Costs of travel, accommodation and subsistence of the 2025 EWL Programme Committee to attend meetings and the forum will not be paid by IWA. 

International Cooperation and Promotion

GdańskTech once again became a place for the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Employees, specialists, and students from various departments of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Main Library of GdańskTech, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding, and the Multimedia Section of GdańskTech gathered to discuss the application of modern technologies, the future of international cooperation, and promotion.

In late February 2025, a meeting dedicated to innovations, international cooperation, and modern marketing techniques took place at GdańskTech. Experts from Tallinn and Gdańsk had the opportunity to share their knowledge, present the results of their work, and establish new professional relationships.
